In 1865, with $100, the John B. Stetson Hat Company was born. He had been trained by his father who was a master hatter. With skills and knowledge of the trade already, he innovatively made the now famous "Boss of the Plains." John B. Stetson led the hat industry his entire career by designing new hat styles for fashion and function. Quality was his creed and as a result, 130 years later, Stetson hats are the most well known hats in the world.
