Dick Atwood started Atwood Hat Company in 1996. He had been looking for a good work hat that could double as a "going to town" hat at the end of the day. On a trip to Mexico in 1987, Dick Atwood purchased a palm leaf hat. After seeing how well that hat lasted in the hay fields and branding pens, Atwood went back to Mexico and brought back more palm leaf hats for his friends. Dick Atwood had started a new business on the ranch! Atwood Hat Company quickly grew into a full time business and is now housed in a 12,000 square foot building complex on the ranch. Atwood Hat Company is located in Frankston, Texas. |
